If you don't feel like taking your OOTD pics in the same-old cafes, these places would be a fresh change to your Instagram feed. Plus, you might leave home with more than good pictures.
3 little tips:
- come early in the morning so you get the best natural lighting and less crowd
- come on weekdays for lesser crowds
- have fun. Don't make taking pictures as your focus. Just have fun.
Taman Menteng
If you're into glasses buildings, plan going here and while you're at it, grab your Instagram boyfriend/ photographer friend. Taking pictures here are going to be tricky. If you play with the angles and the lights, you're going to have amazing shots.
Opens every day from 6:35 AM to 10:55 PM
Address: Jl. HOS. Cokroaminoto, RT.03 / RW.05, Menteng, RT.3/RW.5, Menteng, Kota Jakarta Pusat, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta 10310
What to wear:
or anything white and casual.
Kota Tua
Play with angles! It makes all the difference. One side may look "meh." Another angle might look majestic.
Another tip: look for the abandoned buildings to get that grungy vintage feels (you might want to bring your denim jacket for this).
Oh, while you're there, museum hopping is also a great idea.
What to wear:
Sunda Kelapa Historial Harbour
One of the most famous harbors in ancient time. Nowadays, colorful penisis and boxes (like the ones in a step up movie) lined up. It's a unique sight.
What to wear:
Museum MACAN
It's small but it exhibits the most influential paintings from Indonesia and anywhere else in the world. Look for Andy Warhol's and Raden Saleh's paintings. Also, don't miss the infinity mirror room.
Opens all days (except Mondays) at 10 AM - 7 PM.
What to wear:
Museum Taman Prasasti
A museum full of cemeteries. It may sound creepy, but if you're brave enough, it'll make awesome pictures. (P.S. according to the guard, all the bodies are not there anymore, except maybe 2 or 3)
Opens all days (except Mondays) at 9 AM - 3 PM.
Address: Jl. Tanah Abang I No.1, RT.11/RW.8, Petojo Sel., Gambir, Kota Jakarta Pusat, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta 10160
