Girlcrush: Cecilia Jacobson
When talking about looking good, there is no one we'd rather talk to than someone whose job is to look good (A.K.A. a model) and nailing it.
That's why we caught up with Cecilia Jacobson. She spilled us her honest take on what it's really like about being a model, staying fit, and more. Here it goes:
What's always in your travel bag?
Bikinis, flowy dresses and my camera!
Where's your favorite cafe in Bali? What's your go-to order?
This is a hard one! There are so many cafees I love in Bali. But if I get to choose one it is Mily by Nook in Berawa. The place is beautiful, peaceful and cut off from the street. Also, they got one of my fav smoothie bowls.
Can you share us your little beauty secret?
My beauty secret is definitely clean eating! Beauty comes from within and what you nourish your body with is so important.
How can we love exercise and not see it as a chore?
I think it’s important to find something you like. If you do have fun when working out it’s so much easier to make it into a habit and won’t be as hard to find motivation and get it done. Also, make clear why you want to work out, what is your goals? Get stronger, better cardio, shape your body, become a healthier you? Start going 2 times a week and give it some time. Progress won’t happen overnight.
How did you get discovered as model?
I was in Miami on vacation and a photographer came up to me in Starbucks. He asked if I was a model and if he could do a test shoot with me. This made me start thinking about doing modeling. Shortly after I moved to Mexico City and signed with my first model agency. I was 22 years old!
What's the best and worst thing about being a model?
The best is all the experiences and places you get to see. All the talented people you meet and get to work with!
Worst is the ideal and expectations of being perfect. The industry is making the world believe models are flawless but of course we aren’t. The pictures in the magazine might be, but they are retouched and photoshopped. I know how to look my best in photos, how to pose to appear skinnier than I am, but that doesn’t mean it’s reality. It’s my job! Whenever I’m not working I looooove being natural. 95% of the time I walk around with no make up, with baggy, comfy clothes and my hair in a messy bun. That’s so me haha!
Your fave project so far....
The campaign I did for Tissot last year, “Tissot T-wave”. It was such a lovely and fun experience. I got to fly to Switzerland and do the shooting there.
Any advice on how to look good on OOTD photos?
Have a look at some other ootd photos to get some inspo. Also, I always take lots of photos to be sure I really like one.
Take a look at our collection, which ones would you love to wear?
